Overview

Yoga: Sanskrit word for “yoke” or “union.” To yoke means to draw together, or to unite. Yoga’s aim is to practice the union between body, mind, and consciousness through mastering the dance between breath, and movement. Exploring Conscious Eating as the "Yoga of Food" is a practice to unite our -physical, emotional, spiritual- body to the world around us. Eating is, consciously or unconsciously, the everyday practice through which we interact most intimately with the social and environmental fabric of the world. Food is where we shape, from the inside out, the most intimate connection we establish with ourselves, amongst us, and to all life. Food is central to human existence and yet, we do not learn anything about it at schools. In terms of diet, there is no “one size fits all.” Actually, our environments (city life, media, advertisement, health fads) are systematically conducive to consuming more, not better. Better, not more, is one of the focal points of the practice we are inviting you to immerse yourself during this “Yoga of Food” retreat: a conscious study of moderation, ethical & aesthetic eating, ancestral wisdom, and self knowledge. The most precious asset to live a good life, our health, is not under our control until we educate ourselves to establish practices and habits that are good for us. For this, we must learn the science of cooking, the art of eating, and understand that we eat much more than the physico-chemical properties of food. Nourishment goes way beyond nutrition. To make better decisions, we must decipher what’s in our food, how it is made, what it does to us, how to eat it, and how it makes us feel.

The insightful CxMasterclass has brought me to a new culinary frontier. As now we have full access to all the ingredients easily, we should also consider how to sustain world ecology and pay the respect to the lives of any animal and plant. The past week was nourishing mentally and physically, and my life will never be the same!
